CrossFit is where clients become athletes and learn, practice, and perform the physical skills that lead to excelling in all areas of life.  Everything in CrossFit has a reason.  Nothing is filler.  This boils down to Constantly Varied Functional Movements performed at High Intensity.  The WHY is just as important as the HOW in CrossFit. 

Constantly Varied
Workouts change every day because we strive to build broad and inclusive fitness.  We specialize in not specializing.  An athlete is only as strong as their weakest link; be that their strength, technique, mobilization, mental preparation, etc.  By varying training between long and short, heavy and light, high skill and low skill, and every other aspect we train athletes to be ready for anything – The Unknown and Unknowable.

Functional Movements
Natural movements that our bodies are mechanically designed to do.  Squats, Deadlifts, Cleans, Presses and others are the most efficient movements for Humans to move large loads long distances.  Because they are the base of all Human movement these Functional Movements must be an important part of any training.

High Intensity
Quite simply: Intensity is the most important independent variable associated with positive results.  Want to lose weight, high intensity.  Want to build muscle, high intensity.  Want to get better at X, high intensity.  How do we create that intensity?  Competition.  CrossFit workouts have a score – usually they’re done for time.  The faster you can do a workout with good form and full range of motion the fitter you are.  The more power you generated.  And as an (awesome) byproduct you’ll just happen to be in the best shape of your life.
